Can you be unconsciously stressed? Having panic attacks here.?

I don't think that you are unconsciously stressed at all, you know you're stressed and trying not to admit it to yourself. You are overwhelmed by all the activities that you participate in on top of your school work. I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better since your surgery, but you need to take your mental well being into consideration here. I'm seeing someone who is a high achiever who wants to be the best that they can be and you are participating in all areas academically and otherwise, but is it really helping you? Why do you feel the need to be involved with so many outside activities? Do you feel that this will help you get into a better college? Does the recognition that comes with being so involved and doing well have you hooked so badly that you ignore your mental well being? The anxiety attacks are your body's way of telling you to slow down. When you know you don't have to go to school, you're able to sleep, when you know that you have to go, you don't sleep. I think this means that you really need to set some priorities here and pick just a few of the extracurricular activities that mean the most to you and participate in only those. If anyone gives you a difficult time over giving up a particular activity, just tell them that you really need to focus on school and a few activities in order to give you the down time that you need. Everyone needs down time, time to just hang out, read for pleasure, listen to music or just to sit quietly and write in a journal. Keeping a journal starting now might even give you a clue to what triggers these anxiety attacks. Take a look through your journal and pin point what was happening on the days when you're anxious. Then work on eliminating that trigger or learn how to deal with it. Sounds like maybe you should sit down and have an honest talk with your mom about what is going on. Maybe even involve a school counsellor or your doctor if you and your mom feel that this might help. Be kind to yourself right now and always. Listen to what your body is telling you. Right now it's saying be kind, slow down and take some time for yourself.
