Will teaching careers get easier to find?

When I was in college in the mid 1990's someone from the teaching department told us that in 5 years there would be a demand for teachers. He then told us that he had been hearing the same thing for 20 years. It's now been 15 years and while it's possible to find jobs they still are certainly not abundant. Good news though. I've heard that in 5 years there will be a demand for teachers.
