Dobsonian, Newtonian, or Catadioptric?

I've felt from the time Dobs were first introduced that they were a gimmick of little importance or usefulness. Sure, you can swing the things around for quick peeks, but for long exposure photos or to find specific dim objects, phooey! I love the computerized finder functions now available.
